Monday 28 June
This week we're taking part in the Feed Melbourne soup kitchen event.
On Wednesday the 29th of June, a selection of Melbourne’s leading chefs will showcase a pot of their signature Winter soup on the banks of the Yarra. For a donation of $5, Melburnians will be able to taste a cup of soup from their favourite chef, with 100% of the proceeds going back to the Feed Melbourne charity.
Colonel Tan's offering is a Chicken & Banana Blossom Soup, which is a Tom Kar style soup flavoured with coconut, lemongrass & chilli.

What is Feed Melbourne?
Feed Melbourne is a campaign aimed to raise funds to help local food charities collect, store and distribute food to Victorians who are doing it tough.
Fast facts:
• For every $50 Feed Melbourne receives, 100 meals can be distributed.
• 700,000 tonnes of food is thrown into landfill in Victoria every year. That is the equivalent of 28,000 fully-stocked supermarkets.
•370,000 Victorians are expected to run out of food at some point this year and be unable to afford their next meal.
10% of Australian population is living at or below the poverty line.
